I am Roger Ealth, a writer and illustrator creating animal fables about memory, grief, silence, and the small souls that endure after the world has changed.
Seven Whiskers Press is the home of my illustrated stories, prints, art cards, and mythic animal worlds. My work is rooted in ink, watercolor, old folklore, quiet porches, dark woods, and the feeling that animals carry more than we know.
My main work, Broken Whiskers, follows cats, foxes, dogs, and other creatures through a world after collapse, where memory has fractured and the animal soul becomes the keeper of what humanity could not hold. It is a story about grief, loyalty, sacrifice, silence, and the fragile beauty of enduring when everything familiar has fallen away.
Alongside it is Whispers from the Hallowage, a collection of strange and tender tales told by Renyar, a masked cat-spirit who gathers forgotten stories in a jar of silver whiskers. These tales are smaller, older, and stranger. They belong to the spaces between bedtime story, ghost story, fable, and dream.
The artwork here is slow and deliberate. I work in a storybook style shaped by expressive ink, parchment tones, watercolor washes, crosshatching, and quiet animal expressions. Each piece is meant to feel like a recovered page from a forgotten book, something found in an attic, beside a creek, beneath an old porch, or at the edge of a forest where the light has almost gone.
If you are drawn to cats that remember, foxes that watch, ravens that keep voices, dogs that guard the last good things, and small creatures who refuse to vanish, you may find something here worth keeping.
